REKT Partners Turns One

George Godsal shares thoughts on the first anniversary of the launch of REKT Partners

This time exactly a year ago, I was sitting alone in my office gripped by an equal sense of excitement and trepidation. It was Day 1 of REKT Partners. No clients, no colleagues, just a very clear vision of what I wanted to build, belief that there would be strong demand for it, and patience to know it wouldn’t all happen overnight.

And what a ride it’s been! I was overwhelmed by the huge support and encouragement that I received from Day 1 from former colleagues, clients, industry contacts, media, and many others who simply reached out having been in similar situations themselves.

2022 was a bleak year for crypto in many ways, but it has shifted the mindset of leaders in the industry more towards appreciating the fundamental importance of brand promotion and protection. I’ve been saying for years you can’t promote a brand blind to the underlying risks to reputation — and last year the crypto sector has added some spectacular case studies to prove my point.

As REKT Partners enters its second year I’m feeling extremely optimistic despite the ongoing crypto bear market. The industry proved its resilience last year and matured considerably — if abruptly and painfully at times. The fundamentals for growth this year and over the longer-term are extraordinary, but it won’t be plain sailing that’s for sure.

I’m hugely grateful to all the clients who have put their trust in us, and immensely proud to represent some of the best companies and projects in the sector. As a business we are well positioned to grow, with a network of superb advisors and some exciting new hires in the works. We’re also close to launching a new reputation tracking tool for the crypto sector. More on all of this in the coming weeks and months.

But for now, a massive thank you to all those who have supported us in some way in year one.
